Re: Add more tags to Tag builder
It’d be nice if tag builder was a bit more flexible and could work with “data files” or we could somehow “register” tags with the builder that define each tag and its attributes/handling and which group it goes in.
This might actually be doable as part of the tag registry if we’re clever about it. Since not all tags appear in the builder, when registering tags you could specify whether a tag appears in the builder(s) and where they go (group name) and pass in its attribute definitions or handlers/callbacks.
Side benefit: site designers could define their own set of tags to reveal to clients in the builder by registering/unregistering core tags with it. Imagine how cool that would be. People could write tag definitions for their plugins and have those buildable! And with the new ability to make custom short-tags, this’d be a real bonus as you could write your own tags with attributes and register them with the builder.
At the moment it’s a pain to keep the tag builder in pace with the tag registry, so I’m keen to explore any options we have for marrying the two. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
