broken link - 404 Not Found - The requested resource was not found

I have installed textpattern and I’m trying to convert a wordpress theme to my site.. Today I tried to publish a test article. But when I clicked for individual article, I got the error “404 not found – the requested resource was not found”. The first test post, named “First Post” which came with the Textpattern installation, is working fine. But the articles posted after the first post produce that error. My URL is www.satyavirya.net

also i’ve been trying to look to the visitors log, when I clicked the “test” article it refers to a blank page

what’s with this error? could anyone help me on this issue? thanks, appreciate any help :)

Re: broken link - 404 Not Found - The requested resource was not found

Hi.. thanks, I changed it to the ?=messy permlink, and it’s working, but I prefer to use the clean-url, I tried to uncomment this lines “Options +FollowSymLinks”, but get an Internal Server Error,
and apparently the First Post permlink is working well, the problem is just for the newly added post. Any solutions?

Re: broken link - 404 Not Found - The requested resource was not found

Are you sure the First Post is being displayed as an individual article? If other articles are only shown in messy mode, that seems a bit strange. What does the URL for that First Post look like?

It’s possible that your host doesn’t support clean URLs. Or you might need to make other changes to .htaccess. Here is a topic with various solutions for different hosts.

Re: broken link - 404 Not Found - The requested resource was not found

I think I already supplied the URLs it’s www.satyavirya.net and the First Post looks like this
http://www.satyavirya.net/2008/09/14/first-post

and I believe it supports clean url as I’d used wordpress before then changing it into textpattern

not to mention that I also checked with the visitor logs, if first post link is clicked, it logged the page correctly. But the new added post doesn’t seem to be logged, I wonder why.

Re: broken link - 404 Not Found - The requested resource was not found

I suspect this is a timezone problem, because if I change the permalink manually so it’s the 20th of september instead of the 21th, it does work:

How did you set the timezone setting in the preferences?

hi ruud… it’s great of you to noticed that, I’ve tried to add another post, and it’s working.. the timezone is set to GMT+7, but since I’m travelling to Singapore, I forgot to change the timezone to GMT+8. Thank you very much ruud, appreciate your help. Thanks to els too :)

I suspect this is a bug where the day-month-year permalinks are not generated correctly due to timezone issues. If so, I’m surprised it hasn’t been reported before.
