Re: [archived] dca_pop (easy image links)

It does a little more than this plugin but you might want to check rss_thumbpop

I have rss_thumbpop running for my Albums if anyone wants to see it in action.

Re: [archived] dca_pop (easy image links)

Thanks for the pointer, this looks like a very powerful gallery plugin indeed. Looking at the examples, however, this seems to require a thumbnail?

What I am looking for is something that opens a popup window for about a dozen text snippets within an article. Considering to write an extra fake article for each image and simply linking to those, but that seems an incredible amount of work and duplication for such a simple task.

Yes you need a thumb to connect to the pop-up.

Ah well. I’ll keep looking for alternative solutions then. Many thanks nevertheless.

Re: [archived] dca_pop (easy image links)

Is there a way to remove the scroll bars from the pop-up window? They seem to be affecting the image display size. That is, the width of the bars on the right side and bottom cut into the image.

I should add that I’m referencing IE6. There are no scroll bars when I use Firefox.

Re: [archived] dca_pop (easy image links)

I’m using dca_pop on my weblog random ruminations. I’ve noticed that sometime over the last few updates to TxP, the plug-in gobbles the leading paragraph tag (and perhaps the trailing as well) for the paragraph it appears in. That is, I noticed that the styling was lost on the paragraph (colors, margins, etc) for paragraphs that included an invocation of dca_pop. A view of source showed that the paragraph tags were missing.

Paragraphs that don’t have an instance of dca_pop don’t exhibit this problem.

I really like the simplicity of dca_pop for my application, but would like to resolve the missing-p-tag issue. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix it?

Thanks…

Re: [archived] dca_pop (easy image links)

Boy do I feel dumb! I just tried substituting an anchor for dca_pop and got the same results—no paragraph tags for the paragraph that contains the image reference (and anchor).

So now I’m left wondering why the paragraph tags are lost for the paragraph that contains either an invocation of dca_pop or an anchor reference to the full-size image. Maybe someone would be kind enough to have a look at my site and give me a hint. I don’t mind doing the work, but I’m clueless at this point. Thanks again and sorry for the bad call…

At first I thought it might be something like this problem I’m experiencing, but when I look at your source code I see that you now have double p tags around the paragraphs with images?? (Like <p><p>[image] [text]</p></p>)

Re: [archived] dca_pop (easy image links)

I think it’s the same problem. You’re seeing my attempt at a work-around. If you view source on this entry, then the last paragraph in the entry, which begins with a superscript 1, has no wrapping paragraph tags.

I fixed the first paragraph by hand wrapping it with paragraph tags.

I’ll follow the discussion on your thread as that is the real problem and not, as I thought, dca_pop. Thanks…
